Nainital is a hill station full of lakes and is a glittering necklace in the Himalayas. It is a small town in the hills of Kumaon. Nainital is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Dotted with lakes, Nainital is also known as the 'Lake District' of India. Naini, Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Khurpatal, Sattal are the fives lakes in the town. Nainital was discovered in 1841 by a Britisher called Lord Barron. The weather and surrounding prompted the British to make Nainital the summer capital of the United Province.
